Dr. Qualls E.J. Stevens, DO, MBA
Dr. Stevens has been in practice in Oklahoma City since 2008. He is a native of Liberia, West Africa. He completed his undergraduate work at the Texas Christian University. His medical degree was attained from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Bromenn Medical Center / Midwestern University Chicago School of Osteopathic Medicine. He also served as the Chief-Resident in neurosurgery. He trained with surgeons from the likes of the Mayo Clinic, Alleghany General, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is fellowship trained in complex spine surgery. Dr. Stevens’ interests include: novel delivery methodologies of superselective therapies for brain tumors; use of radiation modalities and chemotherapy for cranial and spinal lesions; employment of radical surgical techniques for spinal tumors; spinal cord injury rehabilitation and novel neuronal restructuring applications.
He is the recipient of several literary and scholarly awards in neurosurgery. He has written and published several peer-refereed articles on various neurosurgery disorders and spine surgery techniques.
Dr. Stevens treats diseases of the spine including herniated discs, spinal disc degeneration, spinal stenosis, spinal instability, spinal tumors, trauma and fractures of the spine, scoliosis and cancer of the spine. Dr. Stevens performs discectomy surgery, spinal fusion surgery in the neck, thoracic and lumbar spine, artificial disc replacement, carpal tunnel release and cementation for spinal fractures.
Dr. Stevens enjoys traveling, soccer and spending time with his family. He participates in medical mission trips to Africa and is a staunch supporter of social justice initiatives and scholarship programs for less privileged students.
